Mein Deutsches Tagebuch
improve your writing skills by keeping a journal "auf Deutsch"!
Tips:
- always concentrate on phrases and structures you have learned
- do not use an online translator or your journal will be rejected
- this is not a partner activity: write it yourself about yourself but have a partner proofread your writing
- only look up isolated words you absolutely need for a particular situation
- always challenge yourself to use your best German
- always plan in German before you write in German, "Notizen"; use graphic organizers whenever possible
- while you write, attempt to think in German
- avoid common errors
- always finish at least 15 minutes before the end of class
- always proofread someone else's journal and compare, comment, and/or contrast
Musts:
- always write at least the minimum amount of words required:
German I: 80 - 100
German II: 100 - 120
German III:120 - 140
German IV: 140 - 160
German AP: 160 - 180
- always include 3 related questions
Turn one "Tagebuch" every 4 1/2 weeks into a Picture Show. Read your text and illustrate it with related pictures:
German I: 5 pictures
German II: 7 pictures
German III: 9 pictures
German IV: 11 pictures
