Das Wetter (Intermediate/Advanced)

Students write about their weather and investigate about the weather around our partner school.

Planning:

• Find out about our weather the past few days include temperatures in Fahrenheit and Celsius.
• Do the same for the weather around our partner school
• Investigate about the weather for the next few days including the weekend
• Make a list of your last weekend's activities and the weather and this weekend's plans depending on the weather forecast
• Note down the usual weather ("normalerweise") at different seasons and the things you and friends and family members do

Writing:

In 120 words write about

- the weather and related activities in our area

- compare the weather here to the weather around our partner school using "und" and "aber"

- use expressions, such as "weil" (giving reason), "dass"(expressing a statement), "wenn"(condition), and "obwohl"(concession) to comment on weather dependent activities; notice: in clauses introduced by the above expressions, the verb goes last.

- ask your virtual friend about the weather situation where he/she lives, and his/her related activities

- write about your plans for this weekend related to the weather (using phrases such as "wenn es schön ist, ..." and/or "wenn die Sonne scheint, ..." etc.). For example: "Wenn es regnet, gehe ich ins Kino"

Advanced students write 140 word and include the weather and related activities in the past using "Perfekt" (Conversational Past), including "letzte Woche", "letztes Wochenende", "letztes Jahr"
