Students describe where they live

Planning:

Draw a sketch of your room. Label your furniture including the definite articles. Describe your furniture with adjectives.

Writing:

Compose a letter to your imaginary pal describing your room.

Start with writing about in what country/ state you live.

what area you live ("Stadt", "Land"; "in einem Haus", "in einer Wohnung")

Mention if you have your own room, "ich habe mein eigenes Zimmer", or if you share your room, "ich teile mein Zimmer mit ..."

Be sure to include:

• definite/indefinite/negative articles ("der/ die/ das", "ein / eine", "kein / keine")
• possessives ( "mein / dein") and pronouns ("er /sie /es")
• the conjunctions "aber" and "auch"
• adjectives
• the adverbs "sehr", "ganz", "ziemlich"
• the construction "es gibt" (there is / there are)
• appropriate pronouns

Compare your room to the rooms of others in your house, such as

"das Zimmer von meinem Bruder", "--- von meiner Schwester", " ---von meinem Vater", "--- von meiner Mutter".

Include 3 related questions.
