Advanced German Projekt: Dresden

You have won a special weeklong (7 nights) stay in Dresden from a German Airline for the coming week starting Monday.

You have just seen the Series of Programs on Dresden, "Mit Christina unterwegs", which prepared you for some of the sights and culture.

You will be staying with a host family and you will be given $ 500 to explore Dresden on your own.

There is a list of things you need to do before you go:

1. Write a letter to your prospective host family in German about yourself and your plans ( 120 words)( 50 points).

   Include:

   1. personal information
   2. geographical information, where you live
   3. your family
   4. your hobbies and interests
   5. what you would like to do and see in Dresden

    

2. Make a list of things you are planning to do (30 points,  2 points each):
   1. 5 famous tourist sites with descriptions
   2. 2 popular restaurants,  menus and what you are planning to eat
   3. 2 regional specialties you are planning to eat (include recipes)
   4. 1 cultural and 1 sports event you are planning to attend (ticket prices)
   5. 2 places in the larger area you plan to visit
   6. 2 special souvenirs you bring back for your family and your best friend
   7. 1 very special souvenir for you

    

3. Plan a budget listing all the tours museums, tickets, souvenirs, transportation. (20 points).

4. After your return from your trip, you put together a slide show in Powerpoint, which includes all of the above. Remember, you want to impress your friends with what you have experienced.
